What is a "cut" jeep? Demil??? What does it all mean, and WH

Explanation:

The US Government decided that the M151 Series vehicles were "dangerous" and decided they needed to be rendered inoperable before being surplussed. This went though multiple variations that were "mild to wild". Starting with complete vehicles being surplus just like they were since military surplus existed. To the final solution of, truly new jeeps being flattened like a pancake before being surplussed.

"INTACT BUT UNSERVICEABLE SOLD TILL 4 FEB 1970"
"INTACT BUT SERVICEABLE SOLD TILL 4 FEB 1973"
"1/2 CUT BEGINS 5 FEB 1973 ENDS 8 APR 1981"
"1/4 CUT BEGINS 9 APR 1981(?) PREFER CRUSH"
"1/4 CUT TO DATE IF CRUSH IS NOT AVAILABLE"

Types of Demilitarization

This was the first thing the government tried to do to render the vehicles inoperative. Before you could remove the vehicle from the DRMO you had to cut the A arms.

This was the second thing the government tried to do to render the vehicles inoperative. This is by far the most "common" cut you will find. Before you could remove the vehicle and components from the DRMO you had to cut the vehicle in half.

This was the third thing the government tried to do to render the vehicles inoperative. This took 2 forms, an X cut and a + cut. You could do do either. Before you could remove the vehicle and components from the DRMO you had to cut the vehicle in four pieces.

This is still the third thing the government tried to do to render the vehicles inoperative. One surplus dealer in the mid-west convinced the DRMO chief to allow this as cut in "4" pieces. This left the "frame" / uni-body undamaged. Before you could remove the vehicle from the DRMO you had to cut the vehicle in four pieces.  This variation was only allowed at one location.

This was the forth and last thing the government tried to do to render the vehicles inoperative.

Vehicle was to be crushed. This took 2 forms, Both dependent on the DRMO chief at the location. The majority had the body crushed flat or similar. Totally destroying the body.

Second (this picture) the vehicle was stripped of everything but suspension and the body was crushed in the areas marked. This
